Sneak Peeky!

Hello all!

This ol' blog is a work in progress.  I am just so excited to do my first ever classroom tour though!  I have stalked my share of blogs in my first few years of teaching.  I'm not ashamed of it!  I get so many ideas from the teacher land of the the blog world.  There are some smart, talented, awesome teachers out there.  I'm so glad I can virtually see a lot of classrooms I wouldn't otherwise have seen.
My classroom has to be a place I love looking at, since I see it more than my own house!  The bright colors make me so happy inside!  So here's  a sneak peek picture and I'll do an actual photo tour once I have everything done!

Behavior Management

How can I already be thinking about this school year???  I still have six more weeks of summer vacation to enjoy! I have to say that being able to use the restroom whenever I please is awesome :)
I have been doing little projects here and there.

Do you remember those super awesome scratch n' sniff sticker from when we were kids???  Well I remember sniffing those things like I do candles in Target's candle aisle now a days.

I was searching blog land and found a great behavior management tool that made me think of those ol' scratch n' sniff stickers----SMELLY SPOTS!!!  I hope you're curious as I was ;)

This idea came from Leslie at Kindergarten Works.  Thank you!!  Turn chapstick into an easy peasy reward system.  I just peeled the labels off and put words of praise on them instead.  Seemed more fitting :)  Added bonus: You get a lot more use out of these than a sheet of stickers!  When I catch someone being rockstar, I will give them a smelly spot on their hand.  I also thought of putting a smelly spot in their journal for them to smell as well.  If first graders are anything like me, they will eat this up! (a few might literally).
